Restoring normality
Our repairs give your customers what they want: to get swiftly and safely back on the road with their vehicle restored to Volkswagen Group manufacturing standards.
Our network gives you what you want, too: a seamless service and extremely high levels of customer satisfaction.
We’re also the only vehicle manufacturer with a specialist dedicated to liaising with insurers.

Invested in quality
Our Centres continually invest in the latest tools, equipment, training and systems to ensure they are repairing vehicles to Volkswagen Group’s rigorous standards – setting them apart from any other bodyshop.
With everything under one roof, there’s no need for pillar-to-post transfers between third party suppliers, or waiting for a specialist. Time saved, hassle reduced.
Volkswagen Approved Paint and Body Centres cover all five of our brands –
that’s 20% of the UK market
Ours is the only network that offers a manufacturer-backed guarantee.
"When you see the VWG badge above the door of a bodyshop, you know the standards are going to be the best.”
Darren Bedford
Head of Engineering, Covea Insurance
Advanced designs benefit from premium repair
Only 44% of repairers in the UK have the tools and training to repair modern vehicles, according to Audetex UK market research.
Fortunately for your policyholders, every single Volkswagen Approved Paint and Body Centre works with the right specialist tools, genuine parts and factory-approved paint and materials.
No job is too complex for our Centres to tackle; even prestige vehicles with high end technology or specialist components can be returned back to pre-accident condition in line with the manufacturer specification.
Improvement is built into everything we do
We use feedback from the market to make sure our factory-approved training courses (and our specialists) are always kept up to date.
And our Standards & Programmes Manager works closely with Thatcham Research to ensure that all our new vehicles - across all five brands – are designed with repair in mind.
“Volkswagen Group UK and Thatcham Research enjoy an excellent relationship built on good communication and close co-operation. This open and constructive dialogue, which includes regular site visits involving both parties to Thatcham Research and Volkswagen Group factories in Germany and the UK, creates a sharp focus on designing cars for repair.”
Andrew Hooker
Advanced Repair Projects Manager, Thatcham Research
In 2018 we invested in a new standards portal, and a programme for pre-scheduling training that gave Bodyshop Managers more time to focus on day to day operations.
You may have come to our seminar in January 2018, where we showcased new vehicles, revealed the latest technology and demonstrated the latest in repair requirements. This event was attended by over 250 repairers, insurers and other industry enthusiasts over four weeks, and we’re running it again for 2020.
We’re currently investing in additional new standards for electric vehicles, which will come into effect from 2020. We’re also working on ADAS repair and recalibration, increased specialist support for aluminium and multi-material repairs, and ways to increase and grow our partnerships within the insurance industry.
Finally, we’re increasing support for non-bodyshop retailers, helping them to carry out low-impact non-structural repairs; and looking at ways to optimise efficiency through employee training, triaging and reducing cycle times.

Measuring performance
All our Centres undergo regular independent audits that cover every touchpoint of the customer journey.
Starting with parking and signage, through the reception process right through to return and handover, the entire customer experience is managed to exacting standards.
We admit that we push our Centres hard, but our customer satisfaction index (CSI) measure shows that it works. In 2017 the Paint and Body network carried out over 124,000 vehicle repairs, with an overall satisfaction rating of over 95%.
Measurement also enables us to analyse and improve, feeding back into our continuous improvement programme to ensure that we’re always up to date with the latest solutions and innovations.
“One of the important principles of our network is that every member considers themselves, above all else, as a Volkswagen Group repairer. Which means working to our strategy, and aligning with the ‘Intrinsically Volkswagen Group’ ethos.”
