New SEAT Arona: Revamped inside and out

SEAT has updated the Arona, enhancing the exterior, interior and introducing new technology and driver-assistance systems.

With more than 350,000 sales globally since its introduction in 2017, the facelifted Arona aims to continue its success and remain a key part of its segment. Production will begin in the third quarter of the year.

Exterior design

There’s a change to the trims available, now: SE, SE Technology, FR, FR Sport, Xperience and Xperience Lux (replacing Xcellence).

New for the Arona are redesigned and repositioned fog lights, a hot-stamped grille design and a rear spoiler and diffuser.

LEDs are now standard and offer better visibility with lower energy consumption. Eco LEDs are standard on SE and SE Technology trims, and upgradable to full LEDs which are standard on FR models upwards.

There are one 17-inch and two 18-inch new wheel designs to choose from and three new colours are available: Dark Camouflage, Asphalt Blue and Sapphire Blue.

Safety

The updated SEAT Arona offers a range of new driver assistance systems such Travel Assist. This option delivers semi-autonomous driving through a combination of Lane Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control.

It also benefits from Side Assist, which adds an extra layer of protection when changing lanes on a motorway. Front and rear-facing radars monitor the vehicle’s blind spots and will alert the driver if another vehicle is detected.

Powertrains

Under the bonnet, the updated SEAT Arona will offer four different petrol powertrains. They produce power ranging from 95PS to 150PS and are linked to either manual or DSG dual-clutch transmissions.

All engines are equipped with turbo, direct-injection technology, with three 1.0-litre EcoTSI options available and a larger 1.5-litre EcoTSI.

The 1.0-litre 95PS unit, linked to a five-speed manual transmission, provides 175Nm of torque. The other three-cylinder unit delivers 110PS and 200Nm of torque and is linked to either a six-speed manual or seven-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission.

A four-cylinder 1.5-litre EcoTSI engine is the largest option in the range with an output of 150PS and 250Nm of torque.
