The CUPRA Formentor has made its dynamic debut around the stunning roads of Cap de Formentor, in north Mallorca.
The crossover utility vehicle (CUV) is the first model developed specifically by CUPRA and made its public static debut at Geneva Motor Show earlier this year, where it was announced that car would come to market in 2020.
This vehicle brings together the benefits of a performance car with the qualities of an SUV.
Powering the Formentor is the high-performance plug-in hybrid engine, designed to meet today’s requirements for performance and efficiency and begin the electrification of the brand.
The newcomer boasts a large integrated battery pack so can drive in pure electric mode for up to 31 miles (50km) in the new WLTP cycle (equivalent to a range of around 43.5 miles / 70km in the NEDC cycle).
Designed to be different
The two-tone body is reminiscent of a robust all-terrain vehicle, but the Formentor’s design uses the aesthetic technique to lighten the vehicle’s silhouette.
Unlike the toughened, rough finish on a traditional SUV, the Formentor uses a seamless design, amplifying the vehicle’s exterior quality. The feeling of high quality is accentuated with the integration of the rear infinite light concept which magnifies the distinctive look of the rear of the vehicle
