ABI group rating meeting members get electric lowdown

The Volkswagen Group Paint and Body team hosted the monthly Association of British Insurers (ABI) group rating meeting on Tuesday 15 October and were also given an insight into the Group’s e-mobility present and future.

The ABI group held its monthly meeting at Blakelands, at which members set advisory motor insurance group ratings for new passenger cars in the UK. It is administered by Thatcham Research, who provide the group rating scheme for private cars and light commercial vehicles and technical information used by the Group Rating Panel.

Before getting down to the nitty-gritty of work the delegates were treated to a presentation by Darren Vivian, Senior Audi Technical Trainer, on the new all-electric power Audi e-tron that graces Blakelands’ reception. Darren talked about the Audi e-mobility strategy and the future of the car.

ID electric car range

As well as the lowdown on Audi, the ABI group received a talk from Volkswagen Product Manager Joe Laurence about the brand’s ID electric car range. What made this part of the day even more special was the information was given by Joe on hands-free mobile phone chat while on the road.

After a well-received buffet lunch and look around and sit in the e-tron, the group rating members then held their private meeting.

The day was very well-received by the ABI group rating members, and Paint and Body are more than happy to play hosts in future.
